The project Digits of Light is dealing with new ways of doing light-painting while using analog as well as digital techniques.
Light emitted by a smartphone generates a picture that is being developed in a traditional photographic process. Therefore special constructions are called into action. They mostly consist of modified enlargers, a smartphone and motorized or manually operated moving mechanical parts.
The single parts of this ›lightbrush‹ are being controlled with a microprocessor and control panels. So each picture is being produced bit by bit directly on photographic paper.
